Modes of Operation
Zero Pressure Accumulation – Each zone has a diffused photo-eye sensor and UL-listed 24V DC UniDrive brushless motor. Zones operate only when the downstream section is unoccupied, using advanced control features for smooth accumulation and efficient package flow, while reducing energy consumption and lowering maintenance costs.
Slug – optional – (transportation/ZPA hybrid) increases package throughput while maintaining accumulation characteristics. In reverse, the conveyor operates in Transportation Mode only.
Transportation – The conveyor continuously moves packages without entering sleep mode, ensuring constant flow for high-throughput applications. Unlike Zero Pressure Accumulation, zones remain active even if downstream sections are unoccupied, prioritizing uninterrupted movement. Reverse is optional.

Connect & Integrate with ProFlex™

RigidPro FAQ
What applications are best served by RigidPro?
RigidPro is ideal for manufacturing or distribution operations where customized smart, powered conveyors providing consistent movement and processing options are required.
Are RigidPro systems reliable?
Yes. RigidPro was designed in cooperation with a leading retail distribution company, which liked our ProFlex system and asked if we could build a “Rigid” system with the same operating features. The system is built to withstand the operational challenges presented by high-volume material handling in warehouse environments.
What are lead times for RigidPro replacement parts?
Ashland is known for short lead times for systems and parts. We maintain an inventory of replacement parts that includes motors, belts, rollers, sensors, controls and structural components.
Is RigiPro easy to maintain?
Yes. RigidPro is designed for extremely low maintenance costs. First, it is built to last longer in high usage harsh warehouse conditions. Belt and roller replacement is easy and all motors and controls are easily accessed.
Is RigidPro easy to use?
Yes. The system requires minimal training, features intuitive controls and has an easy-to-understand interface.
Does RigidPro come with a warranty?
Yes – it comes with Ashland’s standard 1-year limited warranty.

Can RigidPro operate in reverse?
Yes. However, most systems are set up to move material in one direction only.
What is Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA)?
Each accumulation zone has a diffused photo-eye sensor and UL-listed 24V DC UniDrive brushless motor. Zones operate only when the downstream section is unoccupied, using advanced control features for smooth accumulation and efficient package flow, while reducing energy consumption and lowering maintenance costs. In simple terms – it keeps your packages spaced out for easier handling. It also reduces energy usage. When a zone is not in use, the motor powers off until a incoming package is detected.
Is Zero-Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) included with RigidPro?
Yes. RigidPro is available in three operating modes. Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA), Transportation and Slug Mode – a transportation/ZPA hybrid.
Is RigidPro portable?
No. It is a fixed installation system.
Is RigidPro flexible?
No. It is a static system, but it has a number of options that give you the flexibility to create a system that best works for your operation.
What configurations are available?
RigidPro uses straight, curved, merge and transfer modules for customized layouts and extensions. Curved modules come in 45° and 90°. Other options include alternative power supply inputs and advanced control configurations to meet specific operational requirements.
What kind of motors does RigidPro use?
RigidPro is powered by 24V brushless DC motors. These highly reliable motors also consume less energy.
Is ProFlex easy to maintain?
Yes. ProFlex is designed for extremely low maintenance costs. First, it is built to last longer in high usage harsh warehouse conditions. Then, Ashland’s patented quick-change system makes belt and roller replacement easy. All motors and controls are easily accessed.
Is there a size or length limit for RigidPro?
No. Ashand can design a system that covers as much space as you need. Standard module lengths are 6-ft and 12-ft (other length options available), but there is no limit on the number of modules utilized in a system.
What roller diameters are available?
1.9 inch
What roller widths are available?
18, 24, 30 & 36 inch
Does RigidPro require special power or electrical wiring?
No. The system is available in 115/230 single phase or 230/460 three phase.
Does Ashland offer engineering support to help me design my RigidPro system?
Yes. Ashland has been in the conveyance business since 1978 and is highly experienced in the design / selection of smart powered conveyor systems. The process includes a site analysis, interviews to understand your requirements, then designing a system.
What roller diameters are available?

Does Ashland provide installation and commissioning?
Yes. Ashland supports your system from design to commissioning.
Does using RigidPro reduce downtime?
No, the system arrives ready to power up and operate.
Does using ProFlex reduce downtime?
RigidPro is built to provide a longer, more consistent service life and a fast ROI. In the material handling world, reliability is the key to productivity. RigidPro is designed to be as or more reliable than any other similar system. Many factors outside of Ashland’s control can contribute to system downtime. For the ones in our control - quality of build, more durable materials and reinforced stress points - we are confident you will be pleased with your system's performance.
How long does it take to change out a RigidPro roller or belt?
A RigidPro system can be worked on by a worker with minimal training. No special expertise is required to do a roller or belt change.
Does ProFlex include a light for truck interior illumination?
ProFlex offers an optional variable brightness LED light. The light can be factory installed on the truck-end of the system and is also included on ProFlex’s optional Impact Cart.
